The term ‘Gaeltacht’ is used to indicate the areas in Ireland where the Irish language is the main spoken language of a considerable number of the local people. There are only 74,000 native Irish speakers left in Ireland, out of a total population of 4,800,000.
Gaeltacht areas are rich in tradition, culture, folklore, language and musical heritage, not found in other parts of the country, offering a unique and authentic way to experience Ireland.
Through a range of tours, The Gaeltacht Experience™ plunges the visitor in to the heart of these communities, giving them an authentic experience of Irish life at its richest. Each tour is meticulously planned to showcase all that is unique in these rural parts of Ireland, giving an immersive experience that cannot be replicated anywhere else.
Baintear úsáid as an téarma ‘Gaeltacht’ leis na háiteanna in Éirinn ina labhraítear an Ghaeilge mar an phríomhtheanga cumarsáide ag mórchuid na ndaoine áitiúla a chur in iúl. Níl ach 74,000 cainteoirí dúchasacha Gaeilge fágtha in Éirinn amach as pobal iomlán de 4,800,000.
De bharr réimse turais, cuireann Eispéireas na Gaeltachta™ an cuairteoir ar maos i gceartlár na bpobal seo, ag tabhairt dóibh eispéireas fíor ar shaol saibhir na hÉireann.
